Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship

The Robert C. Byrd Scholarship is an invitation-only scholarship for high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and show promise of continued academic excellence.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a high school senior at the time of application;
  • Graduate from a public or private high school or earn your GED certificate;
  • Be a U.S. citizen, national of the United States or permanent resident;
  • Be a Washington State resident; and
  • Have applied or been accepted for enrollment at a university or college.

Award

The average award is $1,500 for four consecutive years.

 

How to Apply

Eligible students are selected from the Washington Honors Awards Program and are invited to apply through their senior class guidance counselors. To determine if you are being considered for the Washington Honors Awards Program, contact your high school guidance counselor or the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
