College Bound Scholarship
BROAD ALL-SCHOOL EFFORTS
Broad, all-school efforts that encourage students to continue their education beyond high school can also include information about College Bound.
Typically, any discussion about college will cover ways to pay for college – loans, grants, scholarships, etc. By describing College Bound as one more option for students, you can spread the word about the program.
IDEAS
Assign a class project about applying for college including how to apply for financial aid. Use a PowerPoint presentation from HECB to give an overview of College Bound or the importance of attending college.
Next, direct your students to www.hecb.wa.gov/Paying for information about financial aid programs including the College Bound Scholarship.
Piggyback with scheduled events by including a summary of College Bound in your welcoming remarks or staff a table with College Bound materials. To order free brochures and posters, call 1-888-535-0747.
