Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant program helps financially needy undergraduate students
who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree. Students
may attend school full-time or part-time.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have demonstrated financial need based on a completed Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA);
- Have a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED)
certificate, or pass a test approved by the U.S. Department of Education;
- Be working toward a degree or certificate;
- Be enrolled in an eligible undergraduate program;
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen and have a social security
number; and
- Register with the Selective Service if required.
Award
The amount you receive will depend on your financial need, the cost
to attend school, your full-time/part-time status, and the number of quarters
or semesters you enroll. The maximum Pell Grant for 2004-05 is $4,050.
