HECB announces executive director search

OLYMPIA— The Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB) is conducting a nationwide search for an Executive Director to succeed Ann Daley, who has announced she will retire at the conclusion of the 2010 legislative session.

The HECB is a 10-member citizen board that makes recommendations to the Legislature and Governor on higher education policy, and administers many of the state’s student financial aid programs. The Executive Director oversees a staff of approximately 100.

A five-member search committee comprised of HECB Chair Jesus Hernandez and additional board members Earl Hale, Gene Colin, Sam Smith and Nita Rinehart will review candidates for the position. Karras Consulting is assisting in the recruitment and selection.

An announcement describing qualifications for the position and providing information about the agency and the application process is posted HERE.

The position will remain open until filled, but persons wishing to be considered for the first round of interviews should submit application materials no later than Dec. 4, 2009 to Marissa Karras by email (marissa@karrasconsulting.net) or by fax (360-956-1348).
