The Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board is a state agency governed by a 10-member citizen board. We are charged by state law with representing the "broad public interest" in higher education and are dedicated to helping students succeed.

Federal grant targets access, success among under-served

The HECB is administering a two-year, $2.2 million federal College Access Challenge Grant designed to increase college access and success among under-served populations, a major goal of the new Strategic Master Plan for Higher Education. Initial funding for the grant will come later this year.

College Bound sign-ups in full swing as deadline approaches

OLYMPIA – More than 5,000 students statewide have signed up to participate in the new College Bound Scholarship program. But many more seventh and eighth graders are eligible to sign up if they act before the end of this school year. As many as 50,000 students qualify for the program statewide.
