Earl Hale is a consultant for the Ford Foundation on higher education policy and governance issues. He joined the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges in 1970, and was serving as executive director when he retired from the agency in January 2006.
A Cheney native who earned a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Washington, Hale is past Chairman of the National Council of State Directors in Community and Junior Colleges, and has served on numerous national and state committees. He currently serves on the boards of the Olympia YMCA and Earth Share Washington.
