Distance Education
Distance education allows students to go to college anytime anywhere. Thousands of Washington students use technologies, ranging from online coursework and interactive video to prerecorded video and correspondence courses.
At the request of the Legislature, the Higher Education Coordinating
Board completed a comprehensive study
of distance education at Washington’s public colleges and universities
in January 2001. Areas of review included degrees and courses, enrollments,
delivery modes, students, tuition and fees, financial aid, faculty, and
budget implications.
