Master Planning

Master planning helps the state ensure continuity in its oversight of higher education by providing a long-range roadmap for the types of degree programs and delivery systems needed to meet dynamic economic challenges and changing demographics.

The Higher Education Coordinating Board is responsible for providing leadership for the state's Strategic Master Plan for Higher Education and for many other studies and reports issued annually that inform the policy making process. Together, these plans and reports help the policy makers coordinate institutional priorities, funding, and facilities to meet the needs of the state and its citizens.
