Community Scholarship
Matching Grants

The Community Scholarship Matching Grant program was created to encourage local organizations to raise money to help students go to college. Community organizations that raise $2,000 for college scholarships receive $2,000 state matching grants. Grants can be distributed to local students or placed in an endowment for future scholarships.

Organizations must be tax-exempt and have 501(c)(3) federal tax code status. State legislation gives preference for grants to organizations affiliated with Dollars for Scholars.

In 2005-06, the program awarded 100 grants to community organizations in Washington.
